I visited Erice, Sicily, Italy!
Aerial City of Erice
The aerial city of Erice is located on top of the 751-meter-high cliff of San Giuliano, a mountain that clouds the sky and looks far down below.
And to the left is the Castle of Venus, which stands on top of the precipice.
This is the Trapani Gate, the entrance to the aerial city of Erice.
Once you step inside, you are in a different world.
It is like a journey back to ancient times.
The church of Matrice, built in 1314, is located in the cobblestone town of Erice, tucked away on top of a mountain!
Matrice Church Cathedral. The markings in the foreground also have a meaning.
And the Gothic ceiling is so high that the interior is a white world filled with light!
The cat is the keeper of the store, a souvenir shop!
And the lady on the left is a friend of G’s who knows all the residents of Erice.
The journey into antiquity ends in the aerial city of Erice, Sicily, Italy.
And the sun sets over the Mediterranean Sea.
