Hello, my name is Hamaca.
I’m here in Machu Picchu Village!
Yes, let’s go to [Machu Picchu Village] anyway!

I translate the Spanish on my phone and ask the taxi driver, “Can you give me a ride to Ollantaytambo station for 60 Peruvian soles?” I ask the cab driver.
Finally, after the 10th cab, I was able to negotiate with the cab driver for 80 Perusols (about 3,200 yen)!
After about two hours of cab driving, we arrived at the Ollantaytambo station.
I asked the station staff if there was a train bound for Machu Picchu Village.
To my surprise, he said there would be a train in 15 minutes, so I made up my mind immediately and jumped on the train!
The 2-hour train ride had large windows and skylights.
The background music inside the train was “The Condor is Flying,” and I could feel the Andes Mountains!
After arriving at Machu Picchu, I found a hotel on booking.com for $40 for 2 nights. I checked into a hotel just a 2-minute walk from Machu Picchu Village.

The view from the train windows along the river is never boring!

Here is a view of the inside of the train. There are many windows and we never get tired of enjoying the view from the train windows!

The view can be seen from the large skylight.
As you approach Machu Picchu, you will see snow-capped mountains!
I purchased an entrance ticket to Machu Picchu Ruins at Machu Picchu Village!

The young owner of the hotel told us that we needed “entrance tickets to Machu Picchu ruins” and “round-trip bus tickets”.
He told me where to purchase the tickets, and we went to purchase them anyway.
First, visitors enter the building in order of their numbered number.
From there, we went through several rooms like a maze. Finally, we arrived at the counter where the entrance tickets to Machu Picchu ruins are sold!
I was given numbered ticket number 617 to purchase entrance ticket to Machu Picchu ruins. When I asked about the number of the person in line in front of me, I heard it was 300, so I almost gave up for a moment.
However, I got myself together and had a cup of coffee at a nearby café, then gave up on the line, which still did not go anywhere, and ordered “ceviche” at a restaurant next door for a little early dinner.
I waited for two hours from 3:00 p.m.
Incidentally, the reason for the long line is probably due to the fact that Machu Picchu Ruins has a certain admission control system to prevent overcrowding by visitors.
They sort the visitors every 30 minutes, and I was able to purchase my ticket at the 11:00 entrance time.
Tomorrow we will finally visit the Machu Picchu ruins!
