Today I am talking about “Kimono Remaking Salon”.
Oasa Welfare Center” in Kitahiroshima-cho, Hiroshima Prefecture
The Kitahiroshima-cho Council of Social Welfare is located inside the Oasa Welfare Center.
The entrance lobby is nicely decorated with bamboo crafts!
Kimono Remaking Salon
The “Kimono Remaking Salon”, run by local residents, began its activities in May 2024.
People who love remakes come together and have fun while their beloved kimonos and old cloths are remade and revived.
You can feel the love of everyone!
Remake salons are a great place to stop by with nothing in hand and without hassle!
You can remake kimono and other old cloths into accessories and clothes by hand.
It is also nice that each of us can make what we want to make at our own pace.
What we want to do at “Kimono Remaking Salon”
We are opening “Blue Art Hostel” in Kitahiroshima-cho, Hiroshima Prefecture in April 2025.
We visited a remake salon to take advantage of kimono, furoshiki (wrapping cloth), and other materials lying around my parents’ house and remake them into curtains and other items.
